Principles

This isn't a corporate mission statement. It's what we believe, and how we try to treat you, every time someone arrives at this site.

1. We believe you.

   It doesn't matter how you got to this country, why you stayed, or whether your migration status is "perfect" according to the law. What you went through at work is real, and we start from the assumption that you're telling the truth.

2. Your dignity doesn't depend on your status.

   Whether you hold a visa, are in the process of getting one, or hold none at all, you deserve to be treated with respect at work and in life.

3. We don't judge, we walk with you.

   We're not here to tell you what you should have done differently. We're here to help you take the next step, whatever your situation.

4. No one should face this alone.

   That's why this site exists: so you have information, resources, and company, even when there's no one else nearby.

5. Your story is yours.

   We never share, publish, or use what you tell us without your explicit consent, and you can change your mind at any time.

6. Asking for help is an act of strength.

   There's no shame in needing support. There is shame in a system that sometimes makes it so hard to ask.

7. This is a starting point, not the end of the road.

   We connect you with real people - lawyers, social workers, helplines - because you deserve more than information: you deserve to be heard.

8. We will get things wrong, and we will fix them.

   This site was built by someone who wanted to help after living through something unjust. If something is wrong or incomplete, tell us - building this is also an ongoing act of care, not a finished work.
